We fabricate helical gears by using alloyed case steel. These gears are available up to 1250mm dia and 16-module angle up 30 degree-helix angle cut in gear hobbing machine LIFEBHERR 1200. The leading edges of teeth are not parallel to the axis of rotation, but are set as an angle. The angled teeth engage more gradually than do spur gear teeth. This helps the helical gears operating smoothly. With these gears non-parallel shafts can be used easily. A pair of helical gears can be meshed in two ways: with shafts oriented at either sum or the difference of helix angle gears. In it, the helices of a pair of meshing teeth meet at a common tangent, and the contact between the tooth surfaces will, generally, be a curve extending some distance across their face widths. Whereas in crossed configuration the helices do not meet tangentially, and only point contact is achieved between tooth surfaces.
Applications Helical gears are used in various industries like material handling equipment, cranes, sugar plants, coal handling equipments, cement plants and petrochem sectors.
